I was lucky enough to go fishing on Saturday with Paul Howarth, head of sales for REC, and Jesse Sampson of Small Stream Outfitters. We fished a small coastal river in search of steelhead. Despite a really rough beginning stretch involving a queasy stomach, three lost bobber rigs and continuous retying, we settled into the groove and we’re appropriately rewarded.

We were hoping to catch a bunch of angry natives, but the hatchery fish kept getting in the way. We landed six of the ten we hooked. Much thanks to both guys, it was a great trip.  More photos here.
