Gary on Rod Design
We had a friend of ours come up and shoot a little video of Gary on a number of topics. Some were decent on the first take. Others will require extensive editing. I suppose that is to be expected, our on-camera talent is a rod designer, not an actor! In this clip, Gary talks about rod design. Enjoy!

What is Gary’s opinion of spigot ferrules? I use these on my fiberglass fly rods (as per Tom Morgan), really like the way the rod looks without the big “flare” for the tip over butt ferrule, and the action seems reasonable. Perhaps it is not as functional for graphite?
