You’ve Got Questions?

Gary Steel

One reason Gary got into this business is to help his custom rod builder friends. He wants to hear from you. If you have questions about blanks, rod making, graphite, CCA, fishing, whatever. Write them here (or email them). I’ll make sure that Gary gets as many of them answered here on Monday as he can.

    Dear Gary,

Thank you for the opportunity to ask a question to you personally.

Realizing, what this question asked you many times,
I nevertheless will dare to ask you to tell us all about
when you have started to use for the first time
a graphite scrim at manufacturing of graphite blanks
and whether all your new (Next SM, Next IM, Next HM) materials
will be rolled on such scrim?

With best wishes from all the Russian fans
    of your undeniable talent
as a designer of first-class blanks!

    Tight Lines,
    Aleksey

    Hello Gary,
I have been using loomis IMX fly rods for about 20 years and have a question about the difference between “ORIGINAL” & “OLD” IMX fly rods in the CCS chart? Is there a way of telling which category an IMX fly rod falls into by the way it is labeled etc.?
Best of luck with your latest fly rod venture, will be following your progress closely and am looking forward to being able to examine one of them.
    Regards,
    Paul
