The Why

We get requests for pre-built rods everyday, but we're not manufacturing rods, we're manufacturing blanks. Apparently, though, a lot of anglers don't want just a blank, a handle, and a bag full of squiggly wires! Those anglers want a ready-to-fish rod, and those anglers are used to buying one off-the-shelf.

But what if instead of pointing them to the nearest big-box store, we said, "Would you like a rod that’s built specifically for you?" What if we decided to lead custom rod making into a broader market, one with anglers who appreciate performance, and demand the best equipment, but don't realize how easy it really is to get a personalized rod?

We have to think that it would benefit builders (and by extension, North Fork) if Gary and NFC were to spread the word about the custom rod world. We see the Approved Rod Builder program a great way to do exactly that.
